FOSSIL HUNTING EXCURSION

Millions of years ago North America was underwater. Vast seas with pre-historic creatures roamed the earth and seas. These animals were some of the largest creatures to inhabit the Earth. When they died, they would settle to the bottom of the sea. After millions of years the Earth’s crust appeared over the water and the North American landmass was formed.

Florida has a large concentration of fossilized remains that have become uncovered in local freshwater rivers which cut into the ground over time. The gravel, teeth, bones, vertebrae, and other remnants remain uncovered in the streams and rivers of Florida.

Shark Guy Fossil Hunting knows where the honey holes are to look, dig, sift, and memorialize your day in the river. We’ll put you into the right river and onto the right ground to collect a trove of fossilized treasure.

This trip will take roughly 6 to 7 hours to complete.
